Artist Bio
Stephen Mitchell is a contemporary British painter based in Falmouth, Cornwall. His work blends elements of abstraction and realism to create atmospheric, evocative compositions. Working primarily in acrylic, he explores a wide range of subjects, including the human figure, wildlife, landscapes, and cityscapes. He uses layered textures, fluid paint application, and subtle color palettes to convey mood and symbolism. Mitchell studied illustration at Southampton Arts Institute before working as a commercial scenic artist, later transitioning to a full-time fine art practice. His work has been exhibited in galleries across the United Kingdom, including London's Mall Galleries, and is held in private collections internationally.
