Artist Bio
Cyrus Swann was a Minnesota ceramic artist, educator, and sculptor known for his inventive approach to clay and mixed-media construction. Swann was a graduate of Bemidji State University. He later returned to teach ceramics while maintaining an active studio practice in northern Minnesota. His work explored the relationship between form, surface, and material, drawing inspiration from natural textures, found objects, and the built environment. Working across pottery, sculpture, wood, and metal, he continually pushed the technical and expressive possibilities of ceramics.
