Artist Bio
Kay Ornberg, a longtime resident of North Dakota, currently resides in Rollag, Minnesota. However, she spent the majority of her life and career working in Fargo where she owned Art Connection and often showed her work in Uptown Gallery. She received her degree from Concordia College in 1962. She started her career working in oils and acrylics but now works chiefly in watercolor. Ornberg was heavily involved in the Fargo art community. An exhibition of her watercolors was shown in "The Human Figure and My Rural Surroundings" at Rourke Art Museum in 2018.

Abstracted watercolor that uses warm colors to depict red deer. The title of the work, Cerus Elaphus 1, refers to the scientific name of the red deer, found most often in Southeast Asia.
