Artist Bio
Dan Kiacz was a professor of art and printmaking at The University of Oklahoma for 31 years. He received his Bachelor's and Master's of Fine Arts from Ohio University. His saturated serigraphs often explore folktales from the many cultures in the American Southwest. He intended to highlight the sense of wonder that is often lost between childhood and adulthood. Kiacz's prints are found in many collections in Oklahoma and across the United States.
Additional Information
A cowboy attempts to lasso a spotted cactus that mirrors the pattern of a cow. The saturated colors and subtle use of metallic ink is quintessential of Kiacz's serigraphs. The scene reflects the world of wonderment and make-believe that the artist often conveys in his work.
