Barbara Williams earned her art degrees from Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield and Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Her artwork has been featured in juried printmaking exhibitions across the globe, including in England, Italy, Poland, the United States, and the former Yugoslavia. Additionally, her work has been showcased in numerous national and regional exhibitions within the United States, including a notable exhibition at the Smithsonian Institution. She is best known for this print that is a portrait of her family.

Barbara Williams is known for her etchings of her family. Robert, Georgie, Minnie, May, Lois, Nita, Lucille, Henry, Jenny, Dean, Maxine, Barbara, Norma, Nona, and Sue is her best known work and has been shown in The Smithsonian Institute and exhibits across Europe. It showcases her large family and her life during the 1930's in the Ozarks.
