Artist Bio
Michael Barnes obtained his BFA from Alma College, Michigan, in 1991 and his MFA from the University of Iowa in 1996. Born in 1969 in Michigan, Barnes has since settled in DeKalb, Illinois, where he works as a professor of printmaking at Northern Illinois University. Barnes’ main art form is lithography, and his themes often focus on dark philosophical questions such as mortality or the meaning of life.
