Additional Information
Emily Lunde achieved national recognition as a North Dakota self-taught "memory painter" during the 1970s when several books on American folk painting included her work. Lunde's painting style and nostalgic rural subjects are somewhat reminiscent of works by Anna Mary Robertson Moses (1860-1961), who was better known as "Grandma Moses". During her later years, Lunde resided in Grand Forks.
