Artist Bio

In 1977 Mark and a small group of art lovers started restoring the Old Miles City Water Works building into a museum and arts center.

Mark Browning founded Browning Arts Center in downtown Grand Forks, ND in 1981 with his late wife Emma. They sold the gallery and framing studio in 1993 and moved back to Miles City, Montana where Mark still resides.

"I consider my work strictly visual. No philosophical or literal translation intended. The subject matter is usually "interiors" expanded by exaggerated perspective, color, lighting, and invented objects".
