Artist Bio

William Augustus Berry received his BFA in 1955 from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas, and his MFA in 1957 from the University of Southern California. For a time, Berry worked as an illustrator and painter in New York City, but eventually accepted a position to teach art at the University of Texas in 1968. Berry later taught graphic design and illustration at Boston University between 1974 – 1978 and then accepted a position as the Professor of Art at the University of Missouri where he retired in 1991 with the title of Curators’ Professor of Art Emeritus. After his retirement, Berry continued to create art, with a focus on combining digital images, photography, collage, and watercolor.
