Artist Bio
George M. Farbotko earned his BFA at Indiana University and his MFA from the University of Colorado Boulder.
Farbotko works chiefly in large sculpture format. Homage to David represents his early style and print design.
Additional Information
Red alien-like figures posed in a roman palace. This piece shows the artist's whimsical style. It is a parody of the most recognizable Neoclassical painting of the 18th century, The Oath of the Horatii (1785) by Jacques-Louis David.
Featured in the 19th North Dakota Print & Drawing Annual in 1976.
