Artist Bio
Richard Martin Ash III was born in 1943 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and raised in Wichita, Kansas. He began his studies at the Fort Wayne Art Institute and later received his BFA and MFA from Wichita State University. Ash taught Printmaking and Drawing at Midwestern State University from 1968 until his death in 2019. He served as Chair of the Art Department for two decades, and the Director of the University Gallery and the Visiting Art Program from 1978 to 2002. Ash has had his prints shown in over 450 art exhibitions and multiple museums across the country.
