Students making and trimming pottery. Freida Hammers is the second from the right. After 3 years as a student at UND, Hammers was hire full time as a research assistant in ceramics and fuel testing in 1926. She advance to "Instructor" in 1937 and Assistant Professor of Ceramics in 1939, the year she retired due to ill health.
