Artist statement:
This silkscreen print was heavily influenced by Japanese Ukiyo-e prints. I wanted to capture some of the tranquility of nature while referencing the use of oil. The print shows my interpretation of Mother Nature while using the colours found in puddles of oil. Whether the recent use of natural resources is for good or bad is left to the viewer to decide.
