Abstract
The Reports of the Royal Commission on Historical Manuscripts is a treasure trove of information that has been almost impossible to unlock since its initial publication. The indexing is rudimentary and there was no cross-reference between reports which makes researching time consuming and frustrating. The object of this project was to provide students, teachers, and researchers with a key to unlock the information in the collection. To do this each volume was examined for content and cross-referenced to other volumes with similar topics. This produced a central collection, Report #9, which encompassed the Elizabethan era, and twenty-two other collections cross-referenced to this particular report. Each volume was examined and an abstract created giving a researcher's evaluation of content and value. The resulting researcher's guide and cross-reference has made the collection more accessible to the scholar and student alike.
