Abstract
The primary concern of this research was to identify news periodicals preferred in higher education by educators concerned with maintaining relevancy and reflecting trends in residential construction.The study was designed to accomplish the following: (1) to identify news periodicals published by and/or for the residential construction industry; (2) to develop a survey instrument capable of determining which of these periodicals were preferred by educators in construction technology (or similarly-named) programs leading to the baccalaureate degree; (3) to survey an appropriate population sample and analyze the data collected; and (4) based upon survey response, to recommend specific news periodicals related to residential construction which could be included in a construction technology departmental resource center in higher education.
