Abstract
Manual arts and industrial therapy programs have been historically an important segment of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service in Veterans Administration hospitals. It has been regarded as a significant form of patient· treatment. The increasing emphasis during the past fifteen years on vocational factors in the rehabilitation treatment process has necessitated and included the training of personnel as therapists. Therapist who have been chosen from the profession of Industrial Arts have worked so successfully in federal, state, local, and rehabilitation centers that the demand has become far greater than the supply.
