Abstract
Industrial arts education in the secondary schools of North Dakota, and other states has been hampered because of the lack of research which has been done on teaching transistor theory and methods of teaching.
A letter was used to survey a few selected industrial arts electricity-electronics programs for information regarding the subject. The purpose of the survey was to gather data, opinions, and ideas concerning transistor theory and methods of teaching.
It was found that many believe the current method of teaching transistor theory in operation in the secondary schools is probably best considered as the teaching systems approach.
The writer also found that the methods run from a simple form of project to take home, to the highly sophisticated experimental approach.
