Abstract
This paper goes through the difficult relationship between social media use and adolescent mental health, focusing on both the positive and negative impacts. It discusses how social comparison, amplified by social media, can lead to feelings of inadequacy, anxiety, and depression, particularly due to the idealized representations of others lives. The paper also highlights the dangers of cyber-bullying, which exacerbates mental health issues and even leads to suicidal thoughts in some adolescents.
