Abstract
The internet has the potential to provide inaccurate, misleading and alarming information. Individuals may begin to hyper fixate on their symptoms and overall health when being provided with worse-case scenario answers. This experience can lead an individual to develop health anxiety, a condition characterized by excessive fear and worry due to a perceived threat to individuals health.
