Abstract

Sleep is a critical component of overall health, yet inadequate sleep has become increasingly common, particularly among young adults and college students. This paper explores the relationship between sleep duration and mental health, with specific attention to symptoms of anxiety, depression, and emotional instability. Not enough sleep can heavily impact an individual's mental health. This paper explores the negative effects of inadequate sleep on psychological well-being, focusing on the correlation between reduced sleep duration and increased symptoms of anxiety, depression, and emotional instability. Topics like the importance of sleep, the cycle of sleep and stress, and how it all affects your mental health will be further explored. These findings emphasize the importance of promoting healthy sleep habits as a preventative measure to support mental health and overall well-being.
