Artist Bio
Frances Mercedes Mahon from Langdon, ND was born in 1899 and attended the North Dakota School of Mines from 1918-1922. There she met her husband, Morris N. Webster. They both graduated and went on to become college professors. They made their home in Everett, WA. and Palm Springs, CA. One interesting note about Frances is that from a young age she had a camera. She used it to chronicle college life for 4 years at UND and she created 2 huge photo scrap-books of her 4 years there. The pictures are a fascinating look at post-war college life in Grand Forks.
