C. Francis Swanke, Class of '40, Celebrates a Century of Birthdays
School of Law
C. Francis Swanke, UND School of Law Class of 1940, celebrated his 100th birthday on July 14, 2014. C. Francis has been a devoted supporter of the School of Law and UND for decades. The Swanke Family Endowment at the School of Law, established by C. Francis Swanke and the UND Foundation in 1996, honors F.W. and Ida Swanke, the parents of C. Francis and Estelle E. Pierce, the sister of C. Francis Swanke.
In 2009 C. Francis, inspired by a generous donation from the Ralph Molbert family of funds to renovate the law school classroom known as the Molbert Room, made the decision to make a similar contribution. In 2010, the Swanke Family Classroom was completed. With this renovation the School of Law doubled the number of state-of-the-art classrooms.
