University Band and Vivo present ‘On Broadway!’ Pops concert April 29

Abstract

The University of North Dakota University Band and Vivo Women's Chamber Ensemble will present "On Broadway!", a Pops Concert, Tuesday, April 29, at 8 p.m. in the Memorial Union Ballroom.

Tickets, available at the door, are $6 for adults, $3 for students, and senior citizens, or $12 per family. Free pop and popcorn will be provided.

The University Band, conducted by James Popejoy and graduate conductor Brady Olson, and Vivo, a women's chamber ensemble directed by Melanie Popejoy and undergraduate conductor Kaylee Lackman, will perform music written for the Broadway stage.

The concert will feature selections from more than 20 musicals presented in a variety of settings. Included will be music from such classic shows as Oklahoma, Carousel, The Sound of Music, West Side Story, and The Music Man, as well as contemporary favorites Hairspray, Into the Woods, Mama Mia!, Wicked, and The Lion King.
