Abstract

The University of North Dakota Music Department is proud to announce the Steel Pan Ensemble will be performing at the Chester Fritz Auditorium at 8 p.m., on Monday, Nov. 4.

Among the most popular annual attractions at the Fritz, the Steel Pan Ensemble performs calypso, soca, and Caribbean-style music on authentic steel drums.

Led by Michael Blake, the Steel Pan Ensemble was formed in 1999 and plays steel drums owned by the Summer Performing Arts (SPA) Company of Grand Forks. According to Blake, interest in the Steel Pan Ensemble has been growing in recent years.

"I am very proud of the hard work these students put in. I would love to see this group become a household name in Grand Forks."

The public is invited to attend and enjoy the tropical atmosphere only the Steel Pan Ensemble can deliver.

Tickets are available from the Chester Fritz box office.
