Professor Kirsten Dauphinais Presents at Conference and Receives Association of Legal Writing Directors Award

Abstract

In June, Professor Kirsten Dauphinais presented at the Association of Legal Writing Directors Conference at Marquette University School of Law in Milwaukee, WI. Her subject of her presentation was "Doing It Our Way in the Law School Curriculum: It Was You All Along," in which she discussed how legal writing professors can utilize their unique expertise in experiential learning, writing across the curriculum, and assessment to make a significant impact on the curricula at their schools and increase their influence and status on law faculties where unequal treatment is a concern.

Also, at the ALWD membership meeting, Professor Dauphinais was presented with an award recognizing the completion of three years of service on the ALWD Board of Directors. In particular, ALWD President Anthony Niedwiecki cited her co-creation of the ALWD Innovative Teaching Workshops, her role of liaison to the ALWD Teaching Committee, and her chairing of the recent joint ALWD/LWI ad hoc committee to provide provide public comments to the American Bar Association Task Force for the Future of Legal Education.
