Abstract

The University of North Dakota's Wind Ensemble is on the road headed for Seattle, Wash., for the prestigious 2012 Western International Band Clinic (WIBC).

The Ensemble was hand selected to present a featured performance at 9 p.m., Saturday Nov. 17, especially for the 34th Annual WIBC clinic.

The Wind Ensemble comprises most outstanding wind and percussion students, selected by audition, at UND. The ensemble performs with nationally renowned guest conductors and soloists, and has premiered new works for winds and percussion. They tour regularly and have established a reputation for musical excellence through state, regional and national conference appearances

The four-day WIBC convention, which runs today through Nov. 19, is for directors and students and is held every November the weekend before Thanksgiving in Seattle.

The UND ensemble is led by Jim Popejoy, director of bands at UND.
