UND, State of North Dakota, and U.S. Geological Survey will host GIS Users Conference

Abstract

The University of North Dakota, the UND Geography Department, the State of North Dakota and the U.S. Geological Survey will co-host the North Dakota GIS Users Conference October 11-13 at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks. The conference starts at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 11, and closes at 3 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 13.

The conference brings together a wide range of professionals, researchers, educators and students who are interested in geographic information systems and their applications.

The keynote speakers are as follows:

*Brian Vanderbilt from the Aerial Photography Field Office, U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency, will speak on the National Agricultural Imagery Program.

*UND imaging experts Doug Olsen and Ho Jin Kim, representing the UND-based Upper Midwest Aerospace Consortium, will provide an update on the International Space Station Agricultural Camera that recently became operational.
