UND Chamber Music Ensembles to hold concert Nov. 4

Abstract

The University of North Dakota’s Vivo Women’s Chamber Choir and Wind Ensemble Chamber Players will present a combined concert Nov. 4, at 8 p.m., in the Hughes Fine Arts Center’s Josephine Campbell Recital Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

Vivo, conducted by Melanie Popejoy, will include in its program Lodovico Grossi da Viadana’s "Exsultate Justi," "Nunc dimittis" by Caleb Burhans, Bernice Johnson Reaagon’s arrangement of "Wade in the Water" and the Lennon and McCartney classic "In My Life." Undergraduate conductor Lynneah Thompson will lead Vivo in "Veniki," arranged by Feodosiy Rubitsov and Veronica Sichivitsa, and Jerry Weseley Harris’s setting of Orlando di Lasso’s "My Heart Is Offered Still To You."

Graduate conductor Kara Hartten will conduct the Wind Ensemble Chamber Players in a performance of "An American Tapestry" by Minnesota composer Daniel Kallman; James Popejoy will conduct Guy Woolfenden’s "Suite Francaise."
