Abstract

University of North Dakota Bachelor of Fine Arts student artist Kathryn Fink will be presenting a special art and film installation that touches on themes of diversity, love, loss and more through a common artifact.

The exhibition, titled The Dress, will take place from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, July 30, at HB Sound & Light, 101 N. Eight St. in Grand Forks. The event is Fink’s Bachelor of Fine Art Show, helping to fulfill requirements for her graduation in December.

This exhibition includes anonymous interviews and short films, created by Fink, and diverse storytelling that centers on a common artifact – the dress – while delving into an array of human complexities.

This one-time event will be free and open to the public. Both alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages will be available as well as a variety of finger foods.

Sponsors for this event are HB Sound & Light, African Arts Arena, You Are Here, Living Sage, Badman, Brick & Barley, River City Jewelers, Kim and Sue Fink, Urban Stampede, and the Worlds Smallest Gallery.
