Walter Christensen was North Dakota Treasurer from 1965 to 1969 and again from 1973 until his death in 1979.

Byron Dorgan served the state in various capacities over a long career in politics: North Dakota Tax Commissioner (1969-1981), US House of Representatives (1981-1992) and US Senate (1992-2011). A native of Regent, North Dakota, he graduated from UND in 1964.

Myron Just served as Agriculture Commissioner from 1974 until 1980. Before that, he served in the State Senate from 1971 to 1972.

Art Link served in the United States House of Representatives from 1971 to 1973 and as Governor of North Dakota from 1973 to 1981.

Robert W. Peterson served in the North Dakota House of Representatives from 1967 until 1972, when he was elected State Auditor. He continued in that role until he retired from office in 1996.
