Tax Commissioner Byron Dorgan poses for a photograph in his State Capitol office in November 1977. Dorgan served the state in various capacities over a long career in politics: North Dakota Tax Commissioner (1969-1981), US House of Representatives (1981-1992) and US Senate (1992-2011). A native of Regent, North Dakota, he graduated from UND in 1964.
