Description

Dr. John Hove was an English professor at North Dakota State University. He was also an unsuccessful candidate in a special election to the United States House of Representatives in 1963, caused by the death of Hjalmar Nygaard. Hove lost the election to Mark Andrews, a farmer from Mapleton.
The son of Representative Usher Burdick, Quentin Burdick represented North Dakota in the United States House of Representatives from 1958 to 1960 and the United States Senate from 1960 until his death in 1992.
