Description

Governor William Langer delivers a speech on sales tax laws at the Tri-County Fair in Wishek, North Dakota, on September 12, 1933. Approximately 3,000 people attended the speech. Information from back of photograph.

"Wild Bill" Langer served as North Dakota Governor from 1933 to 1934 and from 1937 until 1939. He was elected to the United States Senate in 1940 and served until his death in 1959.
