Description

George H. Walsh was an early settler in Grand Forks, a newspaper publisher, and important politician. He served in the legislature for both the Dakota Territory and the State of North Dakota and was instrumental in founding the University of North Dakota. Both Walsh County and Walsh Hall at UND, were named in his honor.
