Artist Bio

Elk Woman, originally from Bismarck, ND, has been widely recognized as a painter, sculptor, jewelry-maker, fashion designer. Her work, which as been exhibited nationally and internationally, draws inspiration from nature and from her Native heritage. These two themes, which she sees as inextricably connected, are brought together in this image of the buffalo, an animal that is sacred to numerous American Indian Nations.
