Description
Cartoon depicts the Republican elephant and the Democratic donkey, bruised after a fight in a boxing ring, watching a man in a boat float by on water, "House Approval of Garrison Diversion." The man is holding a banner that says "Hooray." The United States House of Representatives approved the Garrison Diversion plan which would irrigate 25,000 acres of Eastern and Central North Dakota farmland at a cost of $207 million. Meanwhile, the North Dakota special session has not reached an agreement on the tax referral petition.
