Description

In this letter, dated July 26, 1949, from Lieutenant General C.W. Huebner, Commanding General of the United States (US) Army, Europe, to US Senator William Langer, Huebner replies to Langer's Letter of June 24 regarding convicted Nazi war criminal Dr. Martin Sandberger, who had been sentenced to death by the Nuremberg Tribunal II in Case No. 9, the Einsatzgruppen Case.

Huebner acknowledges receipt of Langer's letter of June 24, 1949, and also references his own letter to Langer, dated June 27, as well as letters he received from Langer dated May 25 and June 1, 1949.

Huebner writes that he has forwarded the referenced documents to the Legal Division, U.S. Office of Military Government for consideration in the final review of the case.
