Additional Information

Yard with cubical sculpture and suspended blocks of ice.

The photographic document pertains to ephemeral artworks that were produced by a UND visual arts student for his MFA Exhibition project.

Ceramic objects were encased in ice. As the ice melted, the ceramic pieces were released and they dropped and broke. This happened slowly over the passage of considerable time. The viewer’s artistic experience involved seeing dripping water, watching objects dropping, and listening to the sounds of dripping water and shattering ceramic pieces.
