Additional Information
Critics have called Victor Vasarely the father of Op Art, a movement that sought to challenge viewers and expand the spatial experience of painting by employing optical illusions. The positive and negative spaces in this serigraph make the black and white shapes almost appear to be in motion- an effect heightened by the three-dimensionality of the embossed image.
