Additional Information
William Aubrey Walmsley, who was born in Tuscumbia, Alabama, spent most of his career as a professor of printmaking at Florida State University. He became known for his “fluorescent prints” such as those produced in his Ding Dong Daddy series, which Walmsley initiated in the mid 1960s. The subject and style of the work by Walmsley on display from this series was an outgrowth of the Pop Art and Psychedelic Art movements of the 1960s.
