Artist Bio

William Walmsley spent most of career as professor of printmaking at Florida State University. He became well-known for his fluorescent prints such as his Ding Dong Daddy series. The subject and style of this work was an outgrowth of the Pop Art and Psychedelic Art movements of the 1960s. The subject of the map of the United States was also utilized by neo-Dadaists such as Jasper Johns.
