Abstract
Oral history interview with Herald M. Tastad of the 1st Armored Division, U.S. Army, during the Second World War. Tastad was captured by the German army in North Africa in 1943 and was imprisoned at various POW camps in Germany. Tastad was liberated by the American army in May 1945.
Herald Tastad was born on 3 October 1918 in Brinsmade, North Dakota, and died on 1 June 2015 in Mayville, North Dakota.
