This work is the second of several works made by Miro in collaboration with the revue Cahiers d’Art. Miro has collaborated with and produced works for Cahiers d’Artmultiple times during the run of the Cahiers d’Art revue, from 1926 until its last revue publication in 1960.
The founder of Cahier d’Art, Christian Zervos, was reportedly a large follower and defender of Miro and his ‘unclassifiable’ work.
