From Flight magazine, "The cover this month illustrates a new and clever idea whereby the range of fighter planes may be greatly extended. A large glider-type plane has the fighter attached underneath it by means of 'quick release' clamps. When the fighter spots and enemy plane he at once releases himself and the glider 'mother' plane return to its base."
