Artist Bio

Piero Dorazio was an Italian painter born in Rome in 1927. Dorazio studied architecture at the University of Rome and later received a scholarship to study at École des Beaux-Arts for a year in Paris. He is best known for his use of geometric patterns and use of bold colors in his abstract paintings. Works by Piero Dorazio can be found in the permanent collections of the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rome, the Civic Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Turin, and many other collections internationally.
