Artist Bio
Telfer Stokes was born in 1940 in St. Ives, Cornwall. Stokes studied at the Slade School of Fine Art and then went on to postgraduate studies at the Brooklyn Museum Art School in 1962. He is best known for founding WEPRODUCTIONS which published contemporary artist books from 1972 to 2002 (including the book pictured above). Stokes currently specializes in abstract steel sculptures and colorful abstract paintings. Telfer Stokes has work in the permanent collections of the Redfern Gallery, the Museum of Modern Art and many others.
