Description
"Dominating the image is a parade float created by Delta Upsilon, which was awarded 1st Place in the Fraternity category. The float comprises two sections. The back half depicts an early steam locomotive engine with a Native American figure as the engineer. The front section depicts a handcar being powered by two rabbits. The sides of the two sections together read ""Sioux Choo Derails Bunny Detail."" The bunny figures infer the football game opponents were the South Dakota State Jackrabbits, who played in the UND Homecoming games of 1963 and 1965.
The photo was taken near the Sorlie Memorial Bridge in downtown Grand Forks. Visible in the background are D & H Beauty Supply and Mahowald's Ace Hardware and Furniture, at 117 and 121 DeMers Avenue, respectively."
