    Description

"A view northwest along the Great Northern Railway train tracks at the intersection of South Fourth Street and Kittson Avenue in Grand Forks, and past Third Street. The corner of the Oddfellows Block building is visible on the far left, a narrow block of business buildings on the opposite side of the street. Right across the tracks are the Opera House and Flatiron Building. Along the left side of the image are the Northern States Power Company smokestacks, their exhaust blowing across the photo. Many vehicles and a few pedestrians occupy the scene.

Visible businesses and signs include Benner's Junior Shop (children's clothing), Skarsbo's Bar & Package Store (liquor), Grand Forks Ice & Fuel (advertising Stott Briquets and Kleen Burn fuel oil), Redwing's Uptown Recreation Center and Apartments, Connie's Standard Service (gas station), and Maytag Sales and Service (appliance and repair)."
