Description
Throngs of spectators watch a harness race at the State Fair in July 1909. A large tent for the "Grand Forks Herald" is on the left. A new grandstand was dedicated by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1938 and it was not until the 1960s that the State Fair was legally mandated to be located in Minot.
