Description
This black and white photograph captures the view of South Third Street looking northeast in downtown Grand Forks. The image documents the three-lane one-way road with visible surface wear and cracking, flanked by parallel lines of parked cars.
This commercial area features a variety of local storefronts, including Speed Print Inc. (Instant Copy Service) and the Frontier Bar on the on the left side of the street, while the right side prominently displays the Downtowner Motel - complete with a large Coca-Cola advertisement over its brick siding - and the Vet's Club.
On the right side right before the building line the sidewalk is a sidewalk telephone booth. Elements also visible throughout the image are tall angled streetlights, rooftop television antennas, and overhead utility line stretching into the distant vanishing point under an overcast sky.
